WHEN TO START EDUCATING YOUR CHILD ABOUT SEX

   Nowadays, information about SEX is everywhere and children can be found everywhere. These children are deeply curios about SEX and they are ready to get the full knowledge of it anywhere.

  That is why it is important for parent to take it up as their responsibility to teach their children about SEX at an early age.

   It is unrealistic to ignore the fact that young people are likely to become sexually active to some extent in their mid teens (12). This is to tell you that education about SEX must start from an early age.

  Children in their early age are vulnerable, they don't have enough vocabulary to explain what happened when CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE occurs. Their early age is at risk period to CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE because culture has made many things to be a taboo, that talking to a child about SEX is a taboo which is a lie. When a parent start exposing the child about SEX, the child will be able explain when abuse has occurred.

   Berk (2013) said; "children are able to process the information more efficiently than adults". This is to tell you that early exposure will enable them to know how to keep themselves from these things and not to be a victim.

In conclusion, the earlier sex education is given at home, the earlier the children are able to establish concept on SEX.

WHAT TO EDUCATE THEM ABOUT? Now that you have learnt about the relationship between you and your child, when to start teaching them about SEX. Today, you will learn about what to teach them. Research revealed that a woman can get pregnant and have a baby as soon as she begins ovulating and mostly that is your child can be pregnant a year after they first begin menstruating.  There is age difference for every child to start menstruating, but the early age is 8 years.
